Data Collection

PhonRead does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All functionality operates entirely within your browser.

Data Storage

Vocabulary lists and known words are stored in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local)
Tab state (on/off per tab) is stored locally
Speech rate preference is stored locally
No data is ever sent to third-party servers

Permissions Used

storage — Save your vocabulary, known words, and preferences locally.
activeTab — Access the current tab to annotate its content.

Network Activity

PhonRead makes no network requests of its own. It only processes content already loaded in your browser tabs. The text-to-speech feature uses your browser's built-in speech synthesis engine.

Third-Party Services

PhonRead does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
